Sunday was Easter and we had a wonderful weekend celebrating with our family. On Saturday we went to my grandma’s house for lunch and Easter egg hunting. We pulled our first calf of the season. The kids love being involved with delivering babies. It was Charlee’s first cows first time having a baby. She had a big bull calf. I love calving season. Nothing is better than brand new life.
On Sunday we took the kids to church with my parents and my brothers family then we went to my in laws house for lunch and egg hunting there. We ended our evening with family movie night. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the extra stuff when it comes to holidays. It’s all fun and games. I’m by no means against it and i definitely enjoy doing it for my kids. But we always, always, always enforce the reason that we celebrate each holiday. If you ask our kids “What’s Easter?” they will tell you that it’s the day that Jesus arose from the dead after he was killed on the cross to save us from our sins.”. If you ask them “What’s Christmas?” they will tell you that it’s Jesus birthday. If you ask them “What’s the 4th of July?” they will tell you that it’s the day that America became it’s own country. If we lose the real reason for each holiday and don’t focus on spending it with our loved ones, we’ve lost the value in it. We’ve let the extras take over.
Whether you celebrated Easter or not, i hope that you had a great weekend.
This is a busy week for us, we have bonus kids while the teachers are doing the walk out. We have pictures this weekend and mom’s birthday party. T-ball twice this week. Church on Wednesday. I’m going out with a girl friend on Friday night. Super excited about that because we just started to hang out and i love making new friends plus who doesn’t love Red Lobster and a few cocktails ha. Next week is also stupid busy because it’s gigging tournament week. I’m loving that it’s April and that spring is here. I’m ready to be able to finish our garden and plant flowers everywhere. Just have to get all of these random freezes out of the way.
