When you're expecting there are a lot of things that you can't wait for. A growing bump, feeling movement, seeing your baby on ultrasound, hearing the heart beat, and one of the biggest things of all is finding out the baby's gender. However, there are a few people who choose NOT to find out the sex until the baby is born. That is such an exciting and amazing thing. One that very few people do.
If you're one of those people who are planning a birth gender reveal here are a few helpful tips for you on preparing for either gender during your pregnancy:
-Purchase gift cards regularly throughout the pregnancy. You can use these gift cards after the baby is born to buy gender specific outfits. It keeps you from spending a big bulk of money at once.
-Get gender neutral things. The essentials are something that you want to have before the baby is born so these are specifically the things that I'm talking about. A swing, car seat, pack and play, bouncer, boppy pillow, blankets, mittens, socks, a diaper bag, ect.
-Buy some newborn clothes for both sexes as well as some neutral clothes. If you're anything like me and don't really care for 95% of neutral baby clothes this is a great tip for you. Buy a few top knot bows and hats for the neutral outfits so regardless of the sex you can have your newborn dressed more obvious for their specific gender.
-Coming home outfit! Esty is incredible I must say. You can find sets such as this that customize a precious coming home outfit no matter what the baby is. Have the seller personalize 2 bibs for you so that you can use the proper bib with his or hers name on it. You don't have to give up cute newborn personalized stuff just because you won't know the baby's gender prior to birth. (Note: we hadn't decided on a boys name so that's why you only see a girls bib ha)
-Buy all of the baby necessities! Lotions, soaps, nail clippers, diapers, wipes, burp cloths, ect. These are items that aren't gender specific anyways so you might as well stock up on them.
-Use neutral paint shades, bedding, wall decor, and furniture in the nursery. You can add girly touches later if it's a girl. We will be adding floral accents for a girl & rustic accents for a boy. Here is an example of our neutral nursery:
I hope that this post was helpful to some of you and I hope that you have a lovely experience whether you know the gender or not 💗💙
