Essential Oils 101: Part 2 — Labor & Delivery

It’s hard to believe that I’m 33 weeks pregnant today (1-2 weeks shy of when i gave birth to 3 of my children). Time is flying by sooo quickly and the countdown to birth day is official begun so now seemed like the perfect time to do part two of my EO 101, LABOR & DELIVERY. Please refer back to part one for pregnancy safe essential oils. These oils are Young Living but I’m happy to help you with alternative brands options or help you to work with what you already have.

Getting things going:

Apply clary sage to your inner ankles or diffuse it

Inhale jasmine or apply like a perfume

Contractions:

Lavender to your contracting belly

Valor or en-er-gee to your spine

“I can do this!”:

Diffuse/inhale or apply valor

Brain power for mental strength

White Angelica for calmness

Calming:

Stress away

Lavender

Frankincense

Peace & calming

Gentle baby

C-section prep:

Valor for strength & bravery

Diffuse peppermint for nausea relief (I soak a cotton ball and keep it near by to smell)

Lavender on chest before procedure to help calm

After baby:

Diluted frankincense on crown of baby’s head or diluted valor on baby’s feet for anointing oil

A few drops of gentle baby on the baby’s tummy

Please note that special care and education in regards to what’s safe to use on and/or around babies is very important. There are many that are hot oils and not safe around small children. Eucalyptus, peppermint, and rosemary being a few. I’m happy to do a detailed post on that topic after I post part three of my EOs 101 if you’d like.
