Another party down in the books. It was the first big event since Papa passed away. I put it off for a long time and we celebrated all three girls birthdays at one party for the simple reason that it was too hard on me to plan this specific event. I didn’t invite half of the people that i usually do. I did everything last minute decor wise (literally made it the night before). I didn’t do any of the treats even though i had bought all of the stuff to do it. I rescheduled the party three times. I sadly dreaded it. I even almost cancelled last minute during an emotional break down when i realized that i had scheduled the party on the three month anniversary of Papa’s death. My grandma reminded me that that’s not what Papa would have wanted. You see, Papa never missed birthday parties. He loved them. He loved his grandkids and great grandkids. Having a party without him was harder than i even expected. But we did it and the kids had a wonderful time. It was nice to spend time with our family. My beautiful baby girls are so blessed. I can’t believe how fast they are growing. I love them with all of my being πππ¦
The paper flowers are made from cardstock and jewels. You can watch YouTube videos on how to make them. It’s super easy but very time consuming. These are some of the DIY flowers from Eilee’s nursery. I made the lashes, ears, and horn from cardstock as well. Sharpie colored the lashes. Glue and glitter made the inner ears and horn. I also made the letters for each frame with cardstock, glitter, and glue. That was all stuff that i had around the house. Again, last minute efforts because for the first time ever i wasn’t excited about party planning.
Grief is so hard. It’s messy and ugly. It’s never ending and always changing. I struggle more now than i did a month ago. The longer time goes, the farther away Papa seems. I try to show myself grace but it’s not been an easy task.
