As the buyers and us near a price agreement on our farm the realtor just informed us that we will most likely be closing in 60 days. We will have to be moved out in early December this year so that means that we've already spent our last Christmas in this home. I won't lie I bawled when my husband and I were talking about it. Brian and I met in the shop here. He said 'I love you.' for the first time here. He purposed here. We made all of our babies here. I went into labor here. We watched our children do all of their firsts here. The list truly is endless. This is home. It's been home our entire marriage. We have put so much love and effort into making this home ours. It's always special here but Christmas time is my favorite time of the year in our house. I love to decorate for it and the house never is as homey as it is during those 6 weeks around Christmas. I can't fathom that we've most likely spent our last Christmas here. Not just that but our new home won't be built before this Christmas so we won't have our own home to decorate and enjoy this year. We will be staying with my parents while our home is being built. Our contractor has a 90 day turn around and he's known for staying true to that time frame so we don't see the point in moving into a place and renting. We will just save our money, live in my parents oversized home, and skip the extra unneeded moving trip. Our realtor could be wrong. We could still be living in our house at Christmas time but odds are that even if we are living there we will be in the middle of moving out so there won't be a point in decorating. It's unreal to me how fast this is all happening. I don't think I was as ready for it as I thought I was. I'm going to miss this place. I'm going to mourn it and probably want it back. However, I'm excited to build our dream home. I'm excited that the new home will be the home that my children always remember. I'm thankful that I'll get to spend 3 months even closer to my parents while the new house is being built. I'm happy that we are finally getting seclusion and my dream view of hills, creeks, and the lake. It's going to be absolutely stunning in our new home next Christmas. Most of all I'm honored to have a family and a love that makes it so easy for none of the above to matter because it's being together that's the real gift. I could live in a box and still feel like the richest person ever as long as I was living with my loves.
*Anyone with moving tips feel free to email me. We've already been packing up stuff here and there but I'm totally overwhelmed by it all. I'll wait until we have a set closing date to real deal pack. Our realtor said we should know that date by the end of this week. Wish us luck.
